GET TO KNOW JENN NAWADA!

The 2026 Oklahoma City Home + Garden Show, presented by Communication Federal Credit Union, welcomes Jenn Nawada, Landscape Contractor for  This Old House and  Ask This Old House. She’ll speak to guests from the Fresh Ideas Stage Friday at 5:00 pm and Saturday at 1:00 pm.

As the Landscape Contractor for This Old House and Ask This Old House, Jenn Nawada will share creative, practical landscaping solutions helping them make their outdoor spaces more beautiful, functional, and sustainable.

We picked Jenn’s brain to give you a peak into her busy life and feature some of her favorites. Here’s what she shared:

What project are you currently working on?

Wrapping up our This Old House project in Needham, MA! Hoping to complete everything sometime in January. It sure does take a village!!

At Nawada Landscape Design, Inc. we’re finishing up a swimming pool installation featuring reclaimed granite stone walls and patios. Working to complete the hardscape and finish the plantings before the end of the 2025 season, while also measuring for upcoming Spring 2026 projects to design and estimate over the winter.

What home gadget or tool should every homeowner own?

Every homeowner should own either a pair of pruners or an electric blower.

What is your favorite house plant?

My favorite house plant is a succulent in a sunny nook.

What’s your favorite floral color to incorporate outside?

The Blue family.

Tips for big outdoor impact in landscaping or curb appeal?

For me, one of the most impactful elements in a landscape is low voltage outdoor lighting. It adds drama to the evening and nighttime setting by uplighting trees or architectural details, while also enhancing safety by illuminating walkways and steps.

BONUS: What do you look forward to about presenting at a home show?

Curious to hear what kind of projects people are doing in different parts of the country. Interested in the materials they are using that are indigenous to their area. Looking forward to trading stories and tips.

Jenn lives in the Boston area with her husband and two sons in an early 1900s home she continues to restore and reimagine – one project at a time.
